PARISH DEVELOPMENT MODEL
The Parish Development Model is a Government strategy or approach for organizing and delivering public and private sector interventions for wealth creation and employment generation at the parish level as the lowest economic planning unit.
The PDM has seven Pillars i.e. (1) Production, Storage, Processing and Marketing; (2) Infrastructure and Economic Services; (3) Financial Inclusion; (4) Social Services; (5) Mindset change; (6) Parish Based Management Information System (7) Governance and Administration.
Nwoya district local Government has two constituencies, 8(eight) sub-counties and 3(three) town councils. the district has 44 (forty four) Parishes and therefore having 44 (forty four) registered PDM SACCO.
There are a total of 24,686 households mobilized as of July. in this, Female are 14,546 and Male are 10,193. There are a total of 1,042 Enterprise groups formed.
AS at 31/July, 2024. The district received 9,049,221,236 and of this each SACCO has so far received 205,664,119 and the total amount disbursed to households is 6,216,000,000 meaning there is 6216 beneficiaries. of the above beneficiaries, 2,859 are male, 3,357 are female, 1,408 are youth and 349 are persons with disability then 951 are elders.
